Law Firm Suing AI Company DoNotPay Has No Standing, Lawsuit Dismissed

A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit brought by a law firm in Illinois against AI shop DoNotPay that accuses the company of “engaging in the unauthorized practice of law.” So reports Reuters.

Do Not PayAs such, Chief U.S. District Judge Nancy Rosenstengel ruled the claims did not warrant standing in federal court as the law firm, MillerKing, did not adequately show it was directly harmed by the AI company. Additionally, DoNotPay is facing another similar lawsuit from a California man who is unhappy with his service from the company.
