Charleston School of Law Accuses City of Walking Back Land Sale Deal

The Charleston School of Law is bringing legal action against the City of Charleston after accusing the municipality of breaking its word to let the school sell property located on Meeting Street. So reports the Charleston Business Journal.

Charleston School of LawThe claim revolves around a parcel of land being sold to the OmShera Hotel Group and a “reverter” clause aimed at keeping the property geared toward legal education. The city’s council members allegedly balked at closing the deal in hopes the city can negotiate more favorable terms.
