The mishap caused the couple to raise the baby girl, who they thought was their daughter, for months. The two couples eventually exchanged babies.
The babies’ embryos were inadvertently swapped at California Center for Reproductive Health and the mistake wasn’t caught until Daphna and Alexander Cardinale confirmed the error with a DNA test. The lawsuit alleges “medical malpractice, breach of contract, negligence, fraud, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and battery.”
