Slain Teen’s Family Keeps Fighting As Prosecutor Declines to Charge Officer

The family of Alvin Cole, a Black teenager killed by a police officer in a Milwaukee suburb, is vowing to continue to fight to prove racism in the officer’s department exists despite prosecutors declining to charge the officer. So reports the ABC News.

police 862341 1920Attorney Kimberley Motley, representing the family, said they are planning to file a federal lawsuit against Wauwatosa Police Officer Joseph Mensah.

Mensah said Cole had a gun, fired it, and refused to drop the weapon when commanded. Cole is the third person Mensah has killed since joining the police in 2015.
