Lawyer Suspended for Misrepresentation, Sex with Client, Can Serve Low-income Community: Judge  

Donald F. Brown, of Brewer, Maine, had his attorney license suspended for one year, but will be allowed to practice law so long as it is court-appointed work done on behalf of Maine’s poor. So reports the Portland Press Herald.

thumb down 1426814 640Brown was suspended for misrepresenting his completion of a mandatory legal ed class as well as for engaging in a romantic relationship with a client. Maine is the only U.S. state that does not have a public defender network. Instead, it relies on contracts with private attorney’s representing low-income clients.
