Priest Siphoned Parish Cash to Pay For S&M Lifestyle: Lawsuit

The parishioners of two New York churches have filed suit against a Catholic priest who they allege stole approximately $1 million from their parishes to fund his support of a male “dom” whom he referred to as “master.” So reports The New York Daily News.

The suit alleges that Rev. Peter Miqueli has been stealing the money from St. Frances de Chantal Church in Throgs Neck, where Miqueli remains the pastor, and from his old church, St. Francis Cabrini on Roosevelt Island, since 2003. It further claims that he used the money to, among other things, pay a young muscleman named Keith Crist $1,000 per sex session, subsidize Crist’s Manhattan pied-à-terre and purchase a house in New Jersey that Miqueli and Crist shared.

The suit also names the Archdiocese of New York and Cardinal Timothy Dolan as defendants, alleging that—by failing to put an end to Miqueli’s antics—those two parties are liable for negligence, and for breaching their fiduciary duty to parishioners.
