Lawyers Who Used Made-up Cases 'Found' By ChatGPT Fined $5K

Steven Schwartz and Peter LoDuca, who tried to use made-up cases generated by AI-powered ChatGPT, were handed $5,000 in fines by New York District Judge P. Kevin Castel. So reports Forbes.

Money dollar 2891817 640smallPer the ruling, the attorneys were said to have “consciously avoided” indications the cases were fake. The sanctions are believed to be the first of their kind with respect to AI use in the legal space.
