Lawyer Calls Out University of Richmond’s Law School for Stripping Ancestor’s Name, Keeping Donations  

A descendant of T.C. Williams, whose name was removed from the University of Richmond’s law school as a result of his slave ownership, is suing the institution for $3.6 billion. So reports The New York Post.

money 1428594 640smallRobert C. Smith, a descendant of Williams and a lawyer in Virginia, said he believes the school should pay back the family estate after the removal of the name. The school was the recipient of $25,000 upon Williams’ death and received regular donations to it in addition to the initial lump sum contribution.
