Sheeran Slams Copyright Culture After Winning ‘Shape of You’ Case  

Award-winning musician Ed Sheeran came out on top of a copyright lawsuit from fellow artist Sami Chokri, who accused Sheeran of stealing from his 2015 song “Oh Why.” So reports NPR.

music gc9b0bcef0 640Chokri, who performs as Sami Switch, said Sheeran improperly based his 2017 smash hit “Shape of You” off the 2015 recording. Sheeran said he feels “claims like this are way too common now and have become a culture where a claim is made with the idea that a settlement will be cheaper than taking it to court, even if there is no basis for the claim.”
