Louisiana Man May Face Punishment Under ‘Blue Lives Matter’ Law

A Louisiana man may face felony charges for allegedly shouting racist and sexist slurs at a police officer and may be the first charged under the state’s “Blue Lives Matter” law. So reports The New York Daily News.

Raul Delatoba also faces charges for damaging property and disturbing the peace after allegedly breaking a Royal Sonesta Hotel window. He was said to have called a female officer a “dumb ass c--t” and a black officer a “dumb ass n----r,” the story reads.

The Louisiana law, which makes attacks on law enforcement a hate crime, is the first of its kind in the nation. It is unclear how the law will be applied in the Delatoba case.
