Georgia Executes First Woman in Decades

Georgia administered a lethal injection to Kelly Gissendaner, 47, the first woman executed in that state in 70 years. So reports Reuters.

Gissendaner, the 16th woman executed in the United States since the Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976, was sentenced to the death penalty for plotting to kill her husband in 1997.
