Ex-Model Sues Tampon Company Over Leg Amputation

A former model who lost her leg below the knee to toxic shock syndrome is suing Kimberly-Clark Corporation, the manufacturer of Kotex Natural Balance tampons. So reports Vice.

The lawsuit filed by the former model, Lauren Wasser, also names as defendants the grocery stores Kroger and Ralph's, where she purchased the product. Wasser argues that the language on the tampons’ packaging— "Change your tampon every four to eight hours, including overnight"—is inadequate since young women can easily sleep more than eight hours a night.
