Europe Requires Google to Consider Requests to Remove Links

A recent landmark decision by a high court in Europe requires Google and other search providers to consider individuals’ requests to remove links that they say infringe on their privacy. So reports the New York Times.

Within days of the decision, about 1,000 Europeans contacted Google asking the company to take down links. Individuals who expect Google’s link removal to completely erase their online histories may be out of luck, however, as tags and threads to offending material may still be viewable.
