Seattle Takes Lead on Plastic Pollution, Enacts Straw Ban

Seattle is the first major city to ban restaurants from using plastic utensils and straws. So reports Fox News.

The environmental regulation went into effect on July 1 and requires restaurants to use compostable options instead of plastic. According to the article, 500 million straws are used each day in the U.S. Restaurants that do not comply with the new law could face a fine of $250.
