Kansas Secretary of State Sued By ACLU Over Voter Data

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach is facing a federal lawsuit from the American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas after it claimed he exposed sensitive information of close to 1,000 voters. So reports The Miami Herald

According to the lawsuit, Kobach recklessly maintained a multi-state voter registration database exposing the partial Social Security numbers of some voters. The database is used to check voter registrations across states to combat fraud, but has been criticized for lax oversight and errors.

Kobach said the lawsuit is baseless and an attack on "secure and fair elections."
