Sorkin-written Mockingbird Play to Hit Broadway After Settlement

Just before going to trial, the producers of the Aaron Sorkin-penned theatrical adaptation of "To Kill a Mockingbird" and the estate of Harper Lee, the book’s author, have settled. So reports Deadline.

Representatives for Lee’s estate said the new production strays too far from the original story. The show’s producer’s claim, though, it does not. The original lawsuit alleges the play scrip portrays the story’s protagonist, Atticus Finch, as an apologist of the “racial status-quo.”

In response, the show’s producer, Scott Rudin, countersued in fear of losing investors over the dispute.
