Watchdog Files Complaint Over $130K Payment from Trump Laywer to Porn Star

Watchdog group Common Cause filed a complaint claiming the alleged $130,000 paid to porn star Stormy Daniels was, in fact, a campaign "expenditure" that impacted President Donald Trump's election. So reports Newsweek.

The payment was reportedly made by Michael Cohen, Trump's personal attorney, to ensure Daniels did not make public a purported sexual encounter. Common Cause said the Department of Justice and Federal Elections Commission should investigate the payment, made a month before the election, as it may have violated campaign finance laws. Cohen denies Daniels was paid for her silence.
