The proposal is aimed at helping students avoid the expense of spending several months preparing for the state bar exam after graduation by allowing them to:
- Take the bar in February of their third year or
- Become lawyers without having to take the bar at all
The committee’s report also contained more traditional suggestions for helping law students cope with today’s challenging legal-job landscape, such as requiring law schools to emphasize more practice-oriented courses.
