Supreme Court to Hear Challenge to Political Contributions Limits

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case challenging the Constitutionality of limits on the overall amount of a person's political contributions, according to an article in the New York Times.

The case was brought by Shaun McCutcheon, an Alabama man, and the Republican National Committee. Mr. McCutcheon said he objected to separate overall two-year limits – currently set at $46,200 for contributions to candidates and $70,800 – for contributions to groups, arguing that they were unjustified and too low.
