Sex Toy Company Tracking Vibrator Usage Without Warning: Lawsuit

An Illinois woman is suing Standard Innovation, the company that manufactures the We-Vibes vibrator, because she believes the company is keeping track of “intimate” data. So reports an NBC affiliate.

According to the lawsuit, the vibrator connects to the We-Connect app, accessible through smartphones. The complaint alleges consumers were not informed the app sends collected “private usage” data to servers in Canada. The company’s website states a pending update will include new “communication regarding our privacy and data practices,” and a new feature to control how data may be used.
