Disabled Brothers Convicted of Murder Released Due to DNA Evidence

Two mentally disabled brothers who were convicted of an 11-year-old girl’s murder and rape in North Carolina 30 years ago have been exonerated based on new DNA evidence. So reports The New York Times.

The case is reportedly “one of the most dramatic examples yet of the potential for false, coerced confessions and also of the power of DNA tests to exonerate the innocent.”
