NYC Council Passes Bill to Allow Noncitizen Voting, Legal Challenges Expected  

The New York City Council approved legislation to allow “legal noncitizens” the ability to vote. So reports NPR.

statue of liberty g924ad45c0 640The bill applies to “noncitizen residents who’ve resided in the city for at least 30 days, including green card holders, DACA holders and those who are legally authorized to work in the country.” Under the law, though, noncitizens would still be unable to vote in federal and state elections.
