The 5-4 decision came down as the court’s conservative members said abortion providers’ attempts to block the law failed to “meet their burden with the ‘complex and novel’ procedural questions presented with their request.” The law allows citizens to file civil lawsuits against alleged violators, and has even built-in monetary rewards for doing so.
