Top Gun Sequel Under Fire for Copyright Infringement

The family of late writer Ehud Yonay is suing Paramount for copyright infringement regarding the recently released film Top Gun: Maverick. So reports Entertainment Weekly.

Top Gun MaverickYonay’s work was said to have inspired the original Top Gun film in 1986 and his son and widow accused Paramount of failing to properly reacquire the rights to Yonay’s work ahead of Top Gun: Maverick’s release as per the Copyright Act passed in January of 2020. The lawsuit is seeking undisclosed damages and to block distribution.
