Murder Conviction Tossed After Defense Counsel 'Did An Atrocious Job'

Thanks to the efforts of the Legal Aid Society, James Davis is being released from prison where he has served time for the 2004 murder of Blake Harper. So reports The New York Daily News.

bullet 408636 640Harper was shot at a party on Pennsylvania Avenue in East New York. An appellate court ruled the Brooklyn man’s attorney failed to speak with “about a half dozen witnesses who would have testified that Davis left the party drunk before the shooting.” Davis is the second person defended by attorney Joel Medows, who died in 2014, to have a murder conviction thrown away.
