Bankruptcy court judge David R. Jones resigned in the wake of revelations he concealed his romantic relationship with attorney Liz Freeman and approved an “indirect fee arrangement” for her law firm. So reports The Financial Times.
Freeman’s office was designed “special conflicts counsel” in two high-profile cases in which she could have made up to $750 per hour serving in that capacity. Freeman did not receive any money from the arrangement as she did not perform any services related to the cases.
